Martech originally comprised of marketing software such as marketing automation platforms, social media management and monitoring tools, website, and SEO analytics. Over the coming years the marketing function will continue to leverage these technologies and trends of the digital age and begin to increasingly overlap with tools leveraged by other parts of the organisation, the Martech landscape continues to develop and has already grown to encompass sales and service tools as well.
We are in the era of brand experience and customers’ demands are rapidly changing. There has been a seismic shift from campaign-based value to customer-based value, measured largely through the customer experience, consumers are now exercising control over their data, content they want to consume, and the brands they wish to engage with.
The future is cloud and for many the migration to cloud technology is already well underway, marketers need to think about how they federate their data to create great customer experiences. The time to align and comply with customers’ needs is more prominent than ever.
